15. Argo
The first trailer for Ben Affleck’s Argo does a remarkable job of setting the scene for the 1979/80-set thriller.
The story is absolutely fascinating and gripping, and has the bonus of being based on true events, and when the guitar from Aerosmith’s Dream On kicks in as Affleck’s plane heads into Tehran, you have yourself a perfectly cut trailer for an immense Oscar contender.
