7. Upside Down
This is a film we were really, really hoping would be released here this year, but alas we have a little longer to wait, with it now set for a theatrical release in 2013. It has already been released in a handful of international territories (hence the subtitles below), and was recently acquired for a 3D post-conversion release in the US next March.
Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst look absolutely brilliant in the leads, and director/co-writer Juan Diego Solanas has done a remarkable job at creating a world here. Like Looper, this is one of the stand-out sci-fi trailers of the year, doing a fine job of introducing us to its world.
The visuals, the music, and the leading cast are all beautiful, and the action and drama looks exceptional in equal doses, and watching the trailer below will no doubt help you understand why we’ve been looking forward to this one ever since it hit back in January.
Definitely one of our most anticipated films of 2013. It promises to be amazing.
