3. Les Misérables
The teaser trailer for Les Misérables was the perfect way to introduce the musical, letting us hear just one song with Anne Hathaway’s I Dreamed a Dream – and, I believe, not the version that made it into the final cut, which is excellent.
But what upped the stakes even further was the full-length trailer that followed. Not only did it tease more footage from the film, it gave us a chance to hear some of the rest of the cast sing – and they really, really can sing.
We hear an epic One Day More from Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, and Russell Crowe. And then comes the fantastic chorus from Do You Hear the People Sing?
It should come as no surprise that Les Misérables has been one of the most anticipated films of the year. If this brilliant trailer is anything to go by, Hooper is set to have redefined the genre.
