10. The Place Beyond the Pines
Ryan Gosling reteams with Derek Cianfrance following the Oscar-nominated Blue Valentine for what will be one of the most memorable films of next year. I saw it at TIFF back in September, and thought it was exceptional. I was very curious to see how they’d cut the first trailer, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
The film is a fantastic blend of action and drama, and the trailer does justice to both. Ryan Gosling looks awesome with his bleach-blond look, and Bradley Cooper’s performance is deservedly quoted as having never been better.
It’s a tale of fathers and sons, and it’s an absolute must-see next year. And I think this first trailer has done a great job in proving that.
