2. The Dark Knight Rises
The spring of this year brought with it one of the most memorable trailers for one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises has of course been one of the most talked-about films of 2012, with Nolan and brother Jonathan giving us an epic conclusion to their Batman trilogy.
The eerie quiet that pervades over the first minute over the trailer below is exceptional, and that brilliance only increases as the music swells, the pace quickens, and we see glimpses of some of the most epic scenes of the year – a hand-to-hand fight between Bane and Batman, the Gotham police facing off against the city’s prisoners, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt preparing himself for death.
“You don’t owe these people anymore. You’ve given them everything.”
“Not everything. Not yet.”
Oh wow. It sends shivers down my spine, no matter how many times I watch it.
