3. The Killing

It’s not easy being a fan of The Killing. Cancelled and saved twice, the series looked set to conclude without a satisfying ending on more than one occasion.

The Killing’s most recent saviour is Netflix, and the benefit of the online streaming service picking up the series is that each of the six episodes will debut in one go on August 1st. The fourth and final season picks up right after the events of season three, and promises to wrap up loose ends and reveals long-buried secrets as detectives Linden and Holder return to investigate both a gruesome mass slaying that exposes a dark family history, and a mysterious disappearance within the ranks of their own Seattle Police Department.

Though Netflix don’t reveal their viewing figures, should this latest run for The Killing prove to be successful, it wouldn’t be at all surprising for it to be resurrected once again for a fifth batch of episodes.
