2. Orange is the New Black

The second season of Orange is the New Black was made available on Netflix in June, kicking off this summer’s must-see TV in style. As with House of Cards, the first run of episodes (which were all released in one go last year) were met with great reviews, and the same can be said for this batch as well.

Set in a woman’s prison and based loosely on real-life events, the series follows Piper Chapman – sentenced to 15 months for a crime committed in her past – as she finds herself overwhelmed by her new environment. We also get to see prison life from the eyes of many of the other inmates as well, and Orange is the New Black offers up some very unique and very different perspectives that it’s rare to see in any TV show.

Both seasons start off a little slow, but you will most definitely find yourself binge watching this series and thanking the Heavens that Netflix releases shows like this all in one go.
