7. Extant
Like so many A-List movie stars before her, Halle Berry is about to make the jump to television. However, unlike Matthew McConaughey (True Detective) and Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), Berry has struggled to find films which make the most of her abilities, which may have made this move a necessity rather than a choice.
Regardless, Extant is a series which will see the X-Men actress play an astronaut, and the plot – she returns home to her family after a year alone on a space station where she has somehow become pregnant – is intriguing, and should help to make this drama addictive viewing as a larger conspiracy is revealed.
The only potential downside to this one is whether it will be able to make this concept last for a full season and beyond, but with a supporting cast which includes Goran Visnjic (The Counselor) and Pierce Gagnon (Looper), there’s an awful lot to like about Extant.
