1. Ray Donovan
Ray Donovan surprised everyone last year when it became one of the summer’s biggest hits. The compelling and stylish crime drama stars Liev Schreiber as a “fixer” for the powerful law firm Goldman & Drexler in Los Angeles.
It’s Ray’s job to clean up the messes created by the rich and famous, all while balancing his complex relationship with his wife, children and brothers. However, his biggest challenge comes in the form of his father (played by Jon Voight) who has recently been released from prison…after Ray sent him there for a crime he didn’t actually commit decades earlier.
It makes for compelling viewing and the first season featured a nice mixture of shocking twists, great drama and black humour. The second season looks set to pick up on many of the plot threads from season one (so be sure to watch that first), and should once again prove to be the most must-see TV shows of the summer.
