Plot:
Set in the 1980s and inspired by director Guy Nattiv’s own family history, The Liberation follows Rita (Carrie Coon), a bank teller, wife and mother who hides the deep trauma of being a Holocaust survivor. When she falls into the orbit of the seductive Ricki (Lily James), Rita leaves her family to join an all-female commune. Her daughters (Bella Ramsey and Odessa Young) set out to extract her from the cult, but soon find themselves susceptible to its mysterious leader.
