Fans of the Merc with a Mouth are hoping for big things from Tim Miller’s forthcoming film, and chances remain for a crossover with other Fox-owned Marvel properties.
There’s been talk of toning it down for a younger audience, something which wouldn’t be as bad as it sounds, especially as the Merc with the Mouth has become a far more mainstream character in recent years with a number of his own comic book series’. Everyone involved seems desperate to make this happen, and after X-Men Origins: Wolverine, fans deserve to see this character brought to life on the big screen.
If necessary, he could even be introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse or X-Force, but as a leaked version of the script was positively received by all who read it, that doesn’t seem necessary. Just make this happen already.
