5. X-Men 4
Now that a new timeline has been created thanks to the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the possibility of revisiting that world really does have all the makings of a successful spin-off. At least some of these characters are expected to return in some capacity in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, while the box office success of both X-Men: The Last Stand and this latest effort might be all that’s needed to show Fox that moviegoers are still interested in this cast.
As we saw in the final few minutes of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Wolverine is completely in the dark about this new timeline, so discovering it with him would be fascinating to say the least. If they really are all that reluctant to pull the trigger on an X-Men 4, perhaps the next solo Wolverine movie (which James Mangold is set to return to direct) could take place during this unexplored period, with cameos from some of the original cast members?
