8. Neytiri
Avatar is the highest grossing movie of all-time, and though the story has been criticised for a lack of originality, what it achieved from a technological standpoint can’t be denied.
We may have Avatar to blame for the stream of subpar 3D movies moviegoers have had to suffer through since it was released, but even those effects were spot in fairness. All of this played a role of course in making the Na’vi the incredibly realistic looking creations that they ended up being, with the work which went into Neytiri an obvious highlight.
Looking back at the movie even six – yes, SIX – years later, it’s still hard to believe that she isn’t just Zoe Saldana in make-up, and what James Cameron does with the sequels should blow our minds.
