3. Reaper
Chances are you haven’t heard of Reaper, but this short-lived series was a real gem. On his 21st birthday, Sam finds out that his mother and father promised him to the devil in exchange for the latter being cured of a deadly illness.
As a result, he’s forced to become a bounty hunter, retrieving mischievous souls with the help of his slacker friends. That description doesn’t really do the series justice, and it was a smart and very funny series with some great action and cracking characters. In fact, it wasn’t all that different in tone to something like Ghostbusters.
Kevin Smith directed the brilliant pilot episode, and it would be great to see him bring it to the big screen. Using the same actors and continuing the story sadly wouldn’t be worth it by this point, but rebooting and retelling the story would be a good idea and could result in a hit.
