9. The Sopranos

Sopranos

The ending of The Sopranos made headlines again recently when David Chase was quoted as apparently saying that Tony was not killed in the show’s final moments. Due to the sad passing of the brilliant James Gandolfini, whether or not his character is alive is largely irrelevant as there’s obviously no way of doing some sort of big screen sequel.

Chase recently said that he’s thrown around the idea of a prequel, and that could be very interesting. Whether it picks up with younger versions of the characters we came to know during the course of this series or is just set in the same world, the prestige surrounding The Sopranos name could help turn it into a big success, especially if Chase were to return and lend his considerable talents to creating a compelling new story. A lack of Gandolfini could make it hard to swallow though.
