8. Family Guy
Like The Simpsons up until 2007, there has been talk of a Family Guy movie for almost as long as we can remember. Seth MacFarlane says that he has an idea for one which would be “impossible” to do on TV, and there’s no real reason why this popular animated series can’t follow in the footsteps of The Simpsons and South Park before it by making the leap to the big screen.
It’s certainly the most worthy candidate of all the animated TV shows which are currently airing, and while the often controversial humour isn’t to everyone’s tastes, fans would certainly appreciate seeing the Griffin household given the movie treatment. The first episode of this year’s Family Guy will feature an appearance from The Simpsons, and while that will be an interesting crossover, why not throw the American Dad characters into a Family Guy feature?
