5. Nebula
Does the actress above look familiar? No? Are you sure? Believe it or not, Nebula is played by Doctor Who star Karen Gillan in what might just be a breakout role for the actress (who actually shaved her head for the movie). The villainous mercenary claims to be the grandaughter of Thanos, something which should make her confrontation with Gamora – a battle that is briefly alluded to in the preview – extremely interesting given the fact that she’s his adopted daughter.
What her role in Guardians of the Galaxy will be in unclear, but it’s clear from the way Nebula is treating the Nova Corps member above that she’s not fighting on the same side as Star-Lord and his team! In the comics, the character was actually a beautiful woman who was left disfigured after being attacked by Thanos when she claimed they were related. It seems likely that a version of those events will also play out in this movie…
