1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
It shares a name with the movie and looks set to have quite a bit in common with it too! Captain America: The Winter Soldier featured the return of Cap’s WWII sidekick Bucky as the brainwashed Russian operative, The Winter Soldier. While the trailer seems to indicate that they’ve omitted quite a few elements of the comic book, it’s clear that they’re still similar in tone and that the big screen adaptation features many of the same characters. This collection is well worth picking up though simply due to how fantastic a read it is. It’s new reader friendly and writer Ed Brubaker arguably made the character “cool” again with a story which not only revealed more about Cap’s WWII set adventures, but also made him an integral part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and gave his adventures an espionage tone rather than the cheesy patriotic tales which preceded it.
