3. Lethal Protector
Venom’s time as a “Lethal Protector” is one of the most popular periods in the character’s history and most often suggested as the basis for a movie. After calling a truce with Spider-Man (which is made on the basis that he commit no crimes while wearing the symbiote), Eddie moved to San Francisco for a fresh start. In this series, Venom becomes a hero of sorts and an entirely different side of the character is explored in the process. His methods of dealing with criminals could be explored in a movie based on this arc, and would also prove to be an interesting parallel to Spider-Man’s adventures, perhaps even bringing him into contact with some of Spidey’s lesser known foes in the process (something which would undoubtedly please fans hoping to see the likes of Shocker).
