6. Sinister Spider-Man
The Sinister Spider-Man series takes place when Mac Gargan was wearing the Venom symbiote. When Norman Osborn manages to con the government and public into believing that he’s a hero, the former Green Goblin is put in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. (now called H.A.M.M.E.R.) and creates his own team of Dark Avengers. This obviously wouldn’t be possible in Sony’s cinematic universe, but Mac Gargan’s stint as a “Sinister” Spider-Man could be an interesting basis for a movie. If he’s introduced in his original guise as Scorpion in a Spider-Man movie and swiftly humiliated by the hero, it would make sense for him to then accept Norman Osborn’s offer of being bonded with Venom. A slight twist on what happened in the comics, but one which could work. His Venom was completely insane, often masquerading as a hero to attract women and…eating the bad guys he took down!
