The season picks up where things left off, and is expected to roughly equate to the second half of A Storm of Swords, the third novel in George R.R. Martin’s best-selling series, A Song of Fire and Ice.
After co-creator David Benioff made his television directorial debut last season, he’ll be back behind the camera for the season premiere, helming the opening episode alongside fellow co-creator D.B. Weiss.
The ten-episode season also sees George R.R. Martin return to the fold, penning the second episode in the new season, continuing his output of writing the script for one episode a season.
The cast will be as brilliant as it ever has been, with Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, and plenty more.
