1. The Flash
The Flash could potentially be a real game changer for superheroes on TV. While Smallville did feature a lead character with powers, the series never embraced Clark Kent’s Superman persona (their no flights/no tights rule would end up being a real drag).
The Flash on the other hand will see Barry Allen fully embrace his role as a hero, costume and all. Footage from the pilot showed that the special effects portraying the Scarlet Speedster’s powers are so far looking top-notch, while a number of popular DC Comics heroes and villains have been cast in the series, including the likes of Captain Cold and Firestorm.
The fact that Barry Allen was introduced in Arrow will also help make it pretty easy to get into if you enjoy that series but aren’t a die-hard comic book reader. If not, this still looks set to be a good place to start.
