2) The Princess Bride – Fight for your Love
In amongst the swashbuckling, revenging and gung-ho adventuring there is the love story between Westley and The Princess Bride, who goes by the name of Buttercup. The film never shies away from the romantic aspects and because it wears its heart on its sleeve the whole benefits immeasurably.
It seems entirely appropriate that the reunion of Buttercup and her Westley is conducted while the two are fighting and the final moments when Westley us thrown down a hill by an enraged Buttercup he bellows the immortal phrase ‘As you wishhhhhhh…’ resonates with the many fans of the film.
It is a wonderful film, well deserving of its place in the hearts of many. After all, it’s about true love. And true love doesn’t happen every day.
