Jon-Hamm-and-Larry-David-in-Clear-HistoryGreg Mottola’s Clear History is definitely one of the films we’re most looking forward to seeing this summer, with an exceptional comedy cast led by the great Larry David himself.

The film is set to premiere on HBO this August, and now the network have debuted a great little teaser trailer to give us a look at the visually-transformed David, rocking a tremendous beard and a full head of hair.

David stars as Nathan, a hipster marketing exec who sells all his shares at a start-up over a fight with his boss (Jon Hamm), only to miss out on billions when the company’s new product—an electric car—becomes a smashing success.

Along with the trailer comes a first-look image from EW, giving us a look at David’s co-star, Jon Hamm.

The two are joined by a terrific cast, starring alongside Bill Hader, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, and J.B. Smoove.

And let’s face it, that’s an unbeatable combination. (I’m particularly excited about seeing David and Smoove reuniting, having seen their brilliant comedy chemistry in the past few seasons of Curb.)

Mottola, the man responsible for Superbad, Adventureland, and Paul, is directing from a script David co-wrote with frequent collaborators Alec Berg, David Mandel, and Jeff Schaffer. Though, as you can imagine, the film was almost entirely improvised, and picks up a decade after David’s Nathan changes his name and goes incognito.

Clear History is set to debut on HBO in August 2013. No word yet on when or where we can expect it to arrive here in the UK, but I’m keeping my fingers tightly crossed for a late summer/early autumn release on one platform or another. Whilst we wait, here’s the great little teaser.
