As the timeless Time Lord gets ready to celebrate his 50th birthday (well, let’s call it his ‘anniversary’ seeing as the Doctor himself is over 1,000 years old), we’re still left speculating about the Beeb’s special episode marking the occasion.

Oh sure, we know that David Tennant is back as the Tenth Doctor, and that John Hurt plays an integral part as a previously unknown ‘War Doctor’ incarnation. We also know that Billie Piper’s Rose, Jenna-Louise Coleman’s Clara, Queen Elizabeth I, Daleks, Zygons and all sorts of other wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey shenanigans are afoot.

But what do we really know?

Well, ok – that’s actually quite a lot. And yet, just like the TARDIS itself, you can guarantee that the 50th Anniversary episode will be a lot bigger than it currently appears from the outside. So here’s a wishlist of demands, must-haves and most-wants that we want to see in the special one-off adventure.

10. More Gallifrey

The doctor has traversed through time and space, notching up any number of planet stamps on his intergalactic passport, and yet we rarely get to see his home turf – the planet Gallifrey.

Any glimpse at the Doctor’s homestead gives a thrill for every Whovian as it provides an uncommon insight into this enigmatic hero’s background. Basically, we want to see his house, where he hung out, his old drinking spots, that kind of thing.

We may just get our wish as well as it has been implied before that Gallifrey was destroyed in the Time War. Talking of which…
