Who thought it was a good idea? Who was there and went “Hey! You know what we need? Taken but it happens again except this time there’s no violence and we’ve moved to Turkey instead!” That person needs a serious career change after green lighting this film that induces cynicism and scepticism about the film industry.
Our story follows the ‘victims’ of Liam Neeson’s revenge crusade starting a revenge crusade on him and his family but it seems they don’t understand that he has a very particular set of skills, skills that make him a nightmare for men like them. They don’t seem to understand that he will look for them, he will find them, and he will kill them. That cool speech aside, he seems to kill people without any of the gritty violence or realism of its predecessor making you think that this family should be banned from going on holiday.
Regardless, it seemed to want a bigger audience but in its search for that, it lost everything that made the original great fun, much like the original Die Hard. This loss of violence and annoying story leads to a complete loss of quality that ruins the believability and realism that made the first such a hit.
