One of the biggest problems with Hollywood is their habit of rebooting properties that no one want to see remade and giving sequels the green light for movies which don’t actually need them! It’s infuriating.
In fairness, there have been some instances where sequels no one expected to actually be any good weren’t that bad, but you could probably only count those on one hand. As of right now, there are almost countless follow-ups in the works that it’s hard to get excited about and fair to say that not a lot of people really want.
Here, we list ten examples of sequels on the way which are either unnecessary or motivated more by money than anything else. As always, we’re sure you have your own thoughts on these, so let us know below!
10. Terminator: Genisys
Don’t worry if you’re not quite sure whether what you see above is taken from the world’s crummiest looking fan-made film (albeit with a surprisingly good cast) or just a sign that Entertainment Weekly should never be allowed to schedule another photoshoot for a movie ever again, because neither are we.
As it turns out, it falls into the latter category, and our first look at the oddly titled Terminator: Genisys – we think we spelled that right – was not a particularly impressive one. It sounds promising on the surface, but seeing as the last good Terminator movie was released in 1991, is this a franchise which really needs to be revisited?
Part sequel and part reboot, the fact that they’re bringing Arnie back as an aged Terminator stinks of desperation.
