Bruce Almighty / Evan Almighty
You think Steve Carell could save this but making it through this film is difficult. I’ve tried at least three times and fallen asleep every single time.
This film doesn’t capture the fun that Bruce Almighty has because he’s just building Noah’s Ark. He doesn’t have God’s powers to really squirm life into his favour by doing stupid things like pulling the moon closer meaning there were tidal waves in Japan. There’s nothing really comical about it and Steve Carell – who can usually make most lines make you smile at least a smidge – struggles to elevate this over anything other than horrendous.
If there was a flooding, this film shouldn’t make it onto the ark. In fact, I wish there was a flooding so this film could be forgotten.
