Paul Feig is one of the funniest directors in Hollywood. He’s worked with Melissa McCarthy on a number of projects in the past, and their latest collaboration is espionage comedy Spy.

We spoke with the writer and director about what it is that makes him want to work with star again and again, making a funny movie that isn’t a spoof and the attractions of the Spy genre for a filmmaker.

Feig also told us about signing up Jason Statham and Jude Law in comedic roles, and how to turn playing it straight into something funny.

Finally the director told us about why he hasn’t done a sequel to Bridesmaids and why he is nervous about sequels.
