4. Bolivar Trask
Peter Dinklage being cast as Bolivar Trask should have led to great things, and while you can’t fault his performance here, the Game of Thrones star was wasted. X-Men: Days of Future Past failed to ever capitalise on whether the character’s size perhaps played a role in his hatred of mutants and his despicable actions were only ever really hinted at rather than shown.
The 70s setting should have seen Trask’s stature addressed more directly (it was, after all, a less PC time), but the plus side to this is the fact that he was left alive at the end so a return is possible down the line. Of course, the X-Men will likely be too busy fighting Apocalypse in the sequel for that to happen too soon, but this villain deserves more screentime.
