3. Alexander Pierce
Though the fact that Robert Redford was one of Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s villains wasn’t hard to figure out before seeing the movie, his role as the leader of HYDRA allowed the legendary actor to really have fun in the role and emerge as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most evil bad guys to date.
It’s a shame we didn’t get to see him in a previous Marvel movie to make the reveal more significant and many fans were disappointed that he wasn’t revealed to be a returning character like the Red Skull. Regardless, his plan to wipe out anyone who opposed his evil organisation makes him stand out and the sight of Alexander Pierce croaking “Hail Hydra!” with his final breath is one which will stick with us for a while.
