1. Magneto
Bryan Singer has taken a lot of grief from comic book fans over the years for his portrayal of some of their favourite characters, but when it comes to his take on the young Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past, it’s near impossible to fault the director.
Michael Fassbender was a clear highlight of First Class, and the same can be said for this “inbetweenquel” as the Master of Magnetism demonstrated his devastating powers to full effect. Whether it’s trying to kill Mystique or forcing the Sentinels to bend to his will, the ruthless mutant would stop at nothing to do what he believes is right for his people.
The highlight? By the time the credits roll, Magneto’s rousing speech has helped to create what will become the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants…
