Earlier this month the wonderful James Kleinmann sat down with stars Sterling K. Brown, Jason Sudeikis, Rachel Bloom and Producer John Cohen to talk about their new movie, Angry Birds 2. That a sequel has been rushed into cinemas should come as no surprise, as the first movie took advantage of the many millions of people familiar with the mobile app series, and made almost $300million more than its budget. Now, in this new film we have old friends and new going about their business – and the film has something special in that its official synopsis offers us almost nothing at all. To wit: The flightless birds and scheming green pigs take their beef to the next level.
The iOS and Android mobile game caused a sensation with millions of birds flung and pigs crushed. This is the second movie based on Rovio’s multimedia franchise and features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Tiffany Hadish, Danny McBride, Awkwafina, Bill Hader, Dove Cameron, Peter Dinklage, Sterling K. Brown, Rachel Bloom, Nicki Minaj, Pete Davidson and Josh Gad.
