With the mantle of President of the United States so readily on the public’s mind right now the release of this personal and presidential biopic is timely to say the least. And there’s a new trailer for the film out today.

We were able to see Natalie Portman’s portrait of Jackie Kennedy in Pablo Larraín’s latest film out in Venice (read our review here) and the powerful drama inherent in the tale gives Larraín’s latest film a solid foundation.

The US get the film on the 2nd of December, with the UK waiting until the 20th of January for its release.

Synopsis,

JACKIE is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman). JACKIE places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created and loved so well.
