The Curzon Mayfair in London played host to a night of secrets and shadows this evening, as the UK Premiere of Verity brought Colleen Hoover’s bestselling psychological thriller to the big screen. The film stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Córdova and Brady Wagner; it was written by Nick Antosca, adapted from Hoover’s novel, and directed by Michael Showalter.
Verity will be released in cinemas on 2nd October 2026.

Plot:
Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson) is a struggling writer who is handed the opportunity of a lifetime when she is hired to ghostwrite for renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway). Relocating to the remote Crawford estate to work on the celebrated author’s unfinished books, Lowen makes a disturbing discovery: what appear to be Verity’s autobiographical notes, filled with chilling and deeply unsettling confessions about her husband Jeremy (Josh Hartnett). As Lowen reads further into Verity’s private writings, the boundaries between fact and fiction begin to blur. What first seemed an extraordinary opportunity becomes something far more dangerous, as Lowen finds herself caught between manipulation and attraction, reality and fiction, opportunity and obsession. Drawn ever deeper into the Crawford family’s secrets, she must question how much of Verity’s story she can believe, and whether uncovering the truth could put her own life in danger.
