9. Eyes of the Gorgon
At one point in DC history, Themyscira, a.k.a. Paradise Island, was relocated to an area near the US coastline. Of course, as their ambassador, Diana is now forced to deal with the political ramifications of an island full of superpowered Amazons living alongside a country obsessed with their national security.
As if that wasn’t challenging enough, Wonder Woman’s enemies decide to take advantage of this by teaming together and sending the ancient Medusa after her. I many respects, this is a storyline which would be much better suited to her own solo movie, although at least some of the political issues mentioned above could be raised in Batman vs. Superman – as they were with the latter’s arrival on Earth in Man of Steel – in order to lay the groundwork for the character to appear in her own solo movie somewhere down the line.
