8. Bane
Bane’s story has been featured twice on the big screen, first in Batman & Robin and later in The Dark Knight Rises. Two very different takes on the iconic villain who broke the Bat, but it still feels like there’s room for his early years to be further explored.
Hailing from the fictional Caribbean Republic of Santa Prisca, a young Bane was forced to serve his father’s sentence when he escaped justice. This hardened him into a criminal long before he started injecting himself with the chemical Venom to become the superpowered monster you see above, and it’s this period of his life which Gotham could shed some light on.
The series could perhaps even introduce him as little more than a thug who is beginning to make an impact in Gotham City, although it’s worth noting that he’s also extremely smart, so his role could prove to be very interesting indeed.
