The flat caps are back, the shadows are longer, and BBC has just cracked open the door to a bold new era of ‘Peaky Blinders.’ A first look image has been revealed, introducing Jamie Bell as Duke Shelby, the man stepping into the smoke-filled vacuum left by the Shelby dynasty’s earlier reign.

Set ten years after the events of ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man,’ the series pivots into the 1950s, where post-war Birmingham is less a city and more a pressure cooker. Industry is booming, but so is ambition and danger.

Bell’s Duke Shelby is described as older, sharper, and far more dangerous, a man forged in the aftermath of World War II.

Joining Bell in this next chapter is a formidable ensemble, Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, Industry), Jessica Brown Findlay (Silo, The Flatshare), Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die, The Day of the Jackal) and Lucy Karczewski, making her television debut following ‘Stereophonic.’

At the helm once again is creator Steven Knight, reigniting the world he built with a new generational spark. This isn’t just a continuation, it’s a reinvention, trading trench warfare trauma for post-war power struggles and mythic ambition.

The series is produced by Banijay UK’s Kudos and Garrison Drama, the latter of which has steered the original ‘Peaky Blinders’ saga. Filming is currently underway at Digbeth Loc—studios, grounding the story in the very streets that shaped the Shelby name.

Both new series, each consisting of six hour-long episodes, will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, before rolling out globally on Netflix.
