1. Dark Avengers
Talking of risky comic book movies, Sony are taking a huge gamble with their Spider-Man spin-off, Sinister Six. That movie will focus on Spidey’s most fearsome villains, and if it does succeed (which is a very real possibility as Drew Goddard has signed on to write and direct), Marvel might want to consider making a Dark Avengers movie.
Rights issues aside – Norman Osborn/Green Goblin obviously couldn’t be Iron Patriot and we wouldn’t see Wolverine’s son – there’s a lot of potential here, especially if it were to culminate with this evil team of Avengers facing off against the real heroes. In the comics, this group manages to convince the world that THEY are the good guys, and this twisted dynamic would make the movie all the more interesting.
Marvel seem to have plenty of ideas for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but hopefully their evil counterparts are also on Kevin Feige’s radar.
