Elysium was a solid follow up to the superb District 9, but Neill Blomkamp’s next film has the potential to be his best yet. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that Chappie will revolve an intelligent robot (played by Sharlto Copley through the magic of motion capture) who is stolen by two local gangsters.

The first poster for the movie has now been spotted on the floor of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and it gives us what appears to be our first look at the titular robot as well as some of his intriguing drawings.

Producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) has praised Chappie as being “the most provocative studio movie you’ll likely ever see,” and with a cast which also includes Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver, this could be one of 2015’s best movies in a year which is crowded with huge blockbusters.

Unfortunately, Chappie doesn’t have a panel scheduled at this year’s Comic-Con as Sony Pictures are just holding a very small event outside of Hall H. With any luck though, we’ll know more about this one soon.
