Arrow is arguably the best small screen adaptation of a comic book property to date, and after a superb second season, the third looks set to be even more exciting. As you can see from the image above, Roy Harper will finally suit up as the heroic Arsenal, an ally and sidekick to Oliver Queen.

A number of familiar faces have also been confirmed to appear this year (including The Atom and Katana), but the debut of Ra’s Al Ghul in the series is arguably the most exciting piece of news we’ve heard so far. He’s an iconic Batman villain – played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins – and the fact that he’s coming to Starling City is a good indication that this season will be the biggest yet.

Throw in a planned crossover with The Flash, and DC Comics fans have a lot to look forward to.
