9. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. divided even the most hardcore fanboys when the Marvel Cinematic Universe reached the world of TV last year, but almost all agree that it improved a great deal as it went along and soon became a must-watch series.

Ratings never really did recover, but this quality increase was in largely down to a tie-in to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This year will see some sort of tie-in to Avengers: Age of Ultron as well, while the series also looks set to introduce a number of well-known characters from the comic books.

Those include the villainous Absorbing Man (pictured above) and Bobbi Morse, a character better known to fans as the heroic Mockingbird. Throw in the existing – and extremely likeable – cast and season two holds a lot of promise.
