4. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a quirky comedy which, unlike most sitcoms on TV these days, doesn’t focus almost solely on romance (New Girl) or rely on crass humour (2 Broke Girls).

Set in a New York police department, the cast is made up of great actors – including Andy Samberg and Terry Crews – and was entertaining from start to finish last year. The series very much takes place in a heightened reality, and Scrubs would be a good comparison in the sense that Brooklyn Nine-Nine finds the perfect balance between absurd situations and touching storylines.

The second season will see Jake Peralta still undercover, while the relationships between many of the detectives look to be very different from when we last saw them. One big name cameo includes Eva Longoria…
