The Green Inferno (Dir: Eli Roth)
Eli Roth returns to the director’s chair with The Green Inferno; a reimagining of Ruggero Deodato’s infamous, cannibal exploitation movie Cannibal Holocaust.
A group of student activists travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a dying tribe but crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they protected.
As to expect from this generation’s gore auteur, blood will be shed. Entrails will burst from the screen and it would be advisable if mandatory sick bags are distributed at the door.
With a sequel already commissioned before this has even been released to be helmed by Nicholas Lopez (Aftershock) it appears The Green Inferno has the guts to keep audiences entertained and clambering for more.
