To celebrate the release of The Man in the White Van, which opens in US cinemas this week, we had the pleasure of chatting with its cast and director to find out more about the terrifying new film!
Based on true events. In 1975 Florida, a series of violent disappearances go unnoticed, and young Annie (Madison Wolfe) is targeted by an ominous white van that stalks her every move. As the menace escalates, her parents dismiss her fears, and Annie is soon plunged into a terrifying nightmare that shatters her world. Also starring Brec Bassinger, Skai Jackson, Ali Larter, and Sean Astin. Directed by Warren Skeels.
Chatting to Wolfe, Bassinger, Jackson, and Warren, we talk about our collective terror – particularly when we are young – of white vans, how they are even scarier on screen, their unique ways of getting ready to be scared on film, why they have all become friends after the experience and what are their scariest films that they love. Next, we chat with director Warren Skeels about the film’s genesis, why he found the iconic image of the white van so scary, shooting on a budget and with a truncated shooting schedule, sneaking in shots, and much more in between.
