Austin Butler, the actor from Elvis and The Bikeriders, is being sought out to play as Patrick Bateman in Luca Guadanino’s adaptation of American Psycho.

With a script written by Scott Z. Burns (The Laundromat), the latest iteration is said not to be a direct remake of the 2000 feature in which Christian Bale played Bateman. Set in the 80’s Bale’s Bateman was a Wall Street yuppie and serial killer.

Jacob Elordi had been previously rumoured for the role. Plot details are currently being hidden in a Hollywood basement.
