Wilson Cruz

When thinking of the recent, surprise cancellation of the popular series Star Trek: Discovery, which recently aired it’s fifth and final season – the first thought often goes to the viewers, and how they must feel when having to say goodbye to characters they love, in a world they feel so comfortable in. But what about the actors? Those who quite literally inhabit this world – well we got an insight into that, as we spoke to Wilson Cruz, to discuss the end of the season, ahead of the home ent release.

Cruz, who played Hugh Culber in the show, tells us how it felt when the cast learnt that the show hadn’t been renewed, in fact being cancelled even after they had finished shooting (they did go back for reshoots to give the series a more distinctive sense of closure). Despite evidently being upset that the show was over, the interview isn’t all doom and gloom, as the actor speaks about his amazing journey on the show, and his character’s arc, and how important it has been, and how much it has meant, to have shared this character with audiences over the years.
