With the new dimension firmly in place, the film is set to be an even bigger success at the international box office, and with only a few months to go before it arrives, Paramount are gearing up what is effectively their second campaign for the film.
We saw a new trailer re-launched last month, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted a new trailer, with the original Joe himself, Bruce Willis, front and centre.
“A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.”
Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and Lee Byung-hun reprise their roles from the first film, with Dwayne (“The Rock”) Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, Ray Stevenson, RZA, D.J. Cotrona, Walton Goggins, Jonathan Pryce, and Mr. Bruce Willis himself completing the cast pretty impressively.
Jon M. Chu is behind the camera, directing from a script penned by the brilliant co-writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland).
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is set for release in 3D here in the UK on 27th March, 2013, following two days later in the US on 29th March. For now, here’s the latest poster, which you can click through to enlarge.
