Jack Reacher will be hitting the box office hard at the end of the month, with the Tom Cruise-led film being given the same slot as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol had last year.
As one of the last action blockbusters of the year, Paramount have been teasing us with plenty of high-octane footage in recent weeks and months. After recently catching the first clip, the studio have now released another new clip, giving us a good look at Cruise in the lead.
“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”
Starring alongside Cruise will be an excellent cast, headed up by Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.
Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) is at the helm, and is directing from his own script, having adapted the original novel, One Shot, by Lee Child.
The film marks the first adaptation in Child’s incredibly popular series surrounding Jack Reacher. And if this film goes well for the studio, there’s definitely room for expansion further down the line.
Jack Reacher will be released in the US just in time for Christmas on 21st December, before coming to the UK ever so slightly later for a Boxing Day release on 26th December. For now, here’s the latest clip to get your anticipation running.
