Mank

We’ve done many an interview during these cold, long lockdown months – but few we’ve enjoyed more than when we spoke to Ferdinand Kingsley ahead of the launch of David Fincher’s Mank. Perhaps it’s because his puppy was involved (and who doesn’t love a puppy?) or maybe it was more to do with the fact that he’s a charming, intelligent speaker who is evidently very proud of his involvement in this brilliant new film – and he has every right to be, for Mank is likely to be a key player at next year’s award ceremonies.

We asked Kingsley about his experiences shooting alongside Gary Oldman, and under the direction of Fincher – while we also ask whether his own parents have had the chance to watch it yet (because yes if you speak to Sir Ben Kingsley’s son, you sort of have to chat about his dad for a brief while). So be sure to sit back and enjoy this entertaining conversation, and to keen a keen eye on the rise of this young actor, as if this role and project is anything to go by, he’s got some career ahead of him.
